Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Microsoft Windows and Linux Red Hat System Administrator to support a nationwide fiber optic transport network. The role requires hands-on support across Windows Server environments, Red Hat Linux, SQL, SharePoint, and security tooling, with travel up to 15%.

Ideal candidates will have DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher, MSCA and RHCE certifications desirable, and Top Secret/SCI clearance. Location is San Antonio with remote/onsite considerations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT with 3 years’ experience or 7 years’ related work experience.
• MSCA certifications desired.
• RHCE certification desired.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher required.
• Top Secret clearance mandatory and SCI required.

Responsibilities

• Document and track outages using trouble ticketing systems.
• Escalate issues and provide Tier II/III remote troubleshooting for a nationwide fiber network.
• Lead enterprise-level projects across systems, networks, and storage.
• Coordinate with engineers, security, PMs and vendors to meet performance criteria.
• Perform diagnostics to optimize network and system performance.
• Maintain and monitor Windows Server Failover Clusters, McAfee EPO, SQL, SolarWinds, SharePoint, Red Hat Linux, Exchange.
