Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to lead and mentor the ROOT System Operations IT Engineering team. The role focuses on infrastructure management, security engineering, incident response, system monitoring, and development of internal tools and APIs to support the ORCA fare system across multiple agencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year degree in a relevant field and 5+ years in IT systems engineering in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining complex infrastructure and multi-agency environments.
• Strong knowledge of security controls, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and logging.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical team leadership and mentoring across ROOT/ORCA teams.
• Design, implement, and improve infrastructure and security controls.
• Develop and maintain API integrations, automation, and runbooks.
