Job summary

Carrot is seeking a Sr. IT Systems Engineer to design, scale, and secure identity, endpoint, and SaaS platforms for a global, remote-first workforce.

You’ll own the technical direction, while remaining hands-on in automation and tooling, guiding large IT initiatives and collaborating with Security on zero-trust priorities. The role centers on building robust architectures, mentoring teammates, and delivering platform initiatives that improve security and efficiency at scale for a health tech

Qualifications

• 6+ years in IT systems engineering or related ownership of production platforms.
• Hands-on with Okta (SSO, SCIM, lifecycle automation, conditional access).
• Expert in managing Mac and Windows fleets with JAMF and Intune.
• Strong scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and API usage.
• Experience designing security controls and zero-trust principles with Security teams.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical projects and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own Carrot's identity, endpoint, and SaaS platforms.
• Lead design and rollout of zero-trust access models and endpoint standards.
• Build and maintain automation and infrastructure as code for configuration and lifecycle workflows at scale.
• Partner with Information Security to design controls and keep audit readiness for SOC 2, HIPAA, and reviews.
• Serve as senior escalation point for incidents and root cause analysis.
• Define engineering standards, runbooks, and documentation; mentor IT teammates.
• Evaluate vendors and build business cases for build vs. buy decisions.
• Design environments to support global operations with secure remote computing setups.
