Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own and modernize the internal IT environment in a hands-on, onsite role in El Segundo, CA. You will work with engineering and security teams to deliver both strategic initiatives and daily support while ensuring policy compliance and smooth operation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT support experience in small to mid-sized environments.
• Experience administering Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 including policy configuration and license management.
• Capable of driving IT projects from scoping through delivery.
• Proficient with endpoint management using MDM and enforcing device policies.
• Strong troubleshooting using logs, tickets, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience supporting HQ tech: wireless networks, conference room gear, phones, printers.
• Proficient with engineering tools provisioning (GitHub, SaaS access).
• Administers cloud IAM (AWS, GCP) for non-production environments; conducts access reviews.
• Collaborates with Engineering and Security on SOC 2 evidence collection and IAM reviews.
• Supports VPN solutions and internal engineering tools.
• Maintains documentation of best practices and config changes.
• Experience with MacOS and Windows endpoints (physical/virtual).
• Background with on-prem virtualization (VMware ESXi, Proxmox, AHV).
• Hands-on network troubleshooting: routing, firewall rules, VPNs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management.

Job Description

A rapidly growing tech company in the security and intelligence sector is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own and modernize their internal IT environment. This is a hands‑on, full‑time, fully onsite position supporting a forward‑thinking, collaborative team committed to next‑generation infrastructure and employee enablement. In this highly visible role, you’ll manage corporate IT end to end, from productivity software and endpoint management to engineering tooling and cloud access. You’ll partner closely with engineering and security teams on key initiatives, ensuring both strategic projects and day‑to‑day support requests are handled with care and technical excellence. Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years providing technical support for small to mid‑sized environments (internal or MSP)
• Administering and optimizing productivity platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) including access, policy configuration, and license management
• Independently driving IT projects from scoping through delivery
• Managing endpoints through MDM and ensuring device policy compliance
• Troubleshooting and resolving IT issues using logs, tickets, and strong communication with affected stakeholders
• Supporting HQ technology including wireless networks, conference room equipment, phones, and printers
• Provisioning and managing engineering tools (e.g., GitHub, SaaS access)
• Administering cloud IAM (AWS, GCP) for non‑production—provisioning, group management, access reviews
• Collaborating with Engineering and Security teams on initiatives such as SOC 2 evidence collection, IAM access reviews, and endpoint security posture
• Supporting VPN solutions and internal engineering tools
• Creating and maintaining documentation on best practices and configuration changes
• Experience with MacOS and Windows environments (physical and virtual endpoints)
• Background in working with on‑prem virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Proxmox, AHV, etc.)
• Hands‑on with network troubleshooting, configuring routing, firewall rules, and VPNs
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills
• Experience working with security/compliance teams on audits (SOC 2 or similar)
• Flexible, consultative approach to rapidly troubleshooting complex technical issues

Desired Skills & Experience

Prior experience in dynamic environments such as startups or rapidly scaling tech companies

Understanding of government or industry‑standard security frameworks (e.g., compliance standards, best practices)

Exposure to environments involving centralized monitoring or security operations support

Hands‑on involvement with workplace technology setup, including physical hardware installation
