Job summary

Hex is seeking a highly technical Senior IT Systems Engineer to own the systems that empower employees to work efficiently. You will design, implement, and operate identity, endpoint, SaaS, onboarding/offboarding, and asset-management systems, collaborating closely with Security, People, Finance, and Engineering.

You will help scale IT with automation and AI-driven workflows, ensuring reliability and security while reducing employee friction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT engineering or systems engineering in a modern tech environment.
• Hands-on experience with identity, endpoints, SaaS, and productivity systems.
• Experience managing macOS fleets with modern endpoint tooling.
• Strong scripting and automation; API integrations and durable workflows.
• Ability to work across identity, SaaS, laptops, networks, and office infra.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve core IT infrastructure across identity, endpoints, SaaS applications, employee lifecycle management, office technology, and asset management
• Build automation and AI agents and integrations that eliminate repetitive manual work and allow IT operations to scale with the company
• Manage and improve our endpoint fleet, including device provisioning, configuration, compliance, patching, and inventory
• Establish strong operational standards for IT systems, including monitoring, documentation, change management, and incident response
• Identify recurring sources of employee friction and systematically eliminate them rather than treating individual tickets as isolated problems
• Help operate and improve technology across our offices, including networking, conference rooms, AV, and other employee-facing systems
• Work effectively with managed service providers, consultants, and technology vendors while maintaining strong internal ownership of our systems
• Partner with the CISO and the security team to design and mature Hex’s IT program, operating model, and team; establish the systems, processes, metrics, and automation needed to scale, with the expectation of progressively taking ownership and ultimately leading the IT function day-to-day.
