Job summary

Turnberry Solutions is seeking a Senior IT Systems DBA to join the Data Strategy and Intelligence practice. This role focuses on performance analysis, index creation, query optimization, and maintenance across client sites.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-availability database solutions and contribute to documentation and proposals. The position requires deep expertise in MS SQL, Postgres, MongoDB, and BigQuery, with a track record of delivering complex DB systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience, OR Associate’s degree plus 5 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience, OR High school diploma and 7 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience in a large, complex organization may be considered in lieu of the degree
• Ability to take responsibility and accountability for own activities
• Possesses ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately
• Must possess human relations skills to interact with a variety of personnel
• Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills, project management skills, strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills
• Perform consulting tasks, act as an information resource, and mentor in a supportive role
• Expertise in MS SQL 2025 or previous, Postgres, Mongo DB, Big Query, and other SQL relational and non-relational databases

Responsibilities

• Perform Database performance analysis, create indexes, improve queries, analyze DB plans, create and modify tables, stored procedures and other various DB development and operations needs
• Support DB activities for go-lives of various web applications
• Under general supervision and guidance, the Senior IT Systems DBA is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex Database systems software at multiple client sites
• Monitor and respond to technical database problems utilizing diagnostic testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall database capacity
• Interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
• Produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories, and plans as requested by the work unit leadership
• Develop proposals that consider alternatives and business case gains needed for comprehensive institutional consideration
• Work effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders
• Work is reviewed upon completion for quality, timeliness, and adequacy in meeting objectives
