Job summary

Bowie State University in Maryland is seeking an IT Systems Analyst (Contingent II-Grant Funded) to administer and optimize critical university systems, including the LMS, analytics platforms, databases, and cloud/SaaS apps.

The role requires a Master’s degree in computer science or information technology and at least five years of relevant experience; advanced degree and higher-education experience are preferred. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in systems administration, LMS administration, database administration, or related areas.
• Advanced degree and higher-education experience preferred.
• Must be able to work some evenings/weekends as needed.
• Experience with SaaS/cloud technologies and enterprise integrations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, monitor, optimize, and support enterprise academic systems including LMS and analytics platforms.
• Provide advanced systems administration and technical expertise for highly available, secure environments.
• Design and maintain enterprise system integrations, data workflows, APIs, and automation.
• Develop programming scripts (SQL, Java, Python) to support operations and analytics.
• Manage databases (PostgreSQL, Snowflake) and related data-management tasks.
• Lead and support instructional design and academic technology initiatives.
• Coordinate complex technology projects with stakeholders and vendors.
• Document architectures, procedures, and standards.
