Job summary

Bowie State University in Maryland seeks a Research and Innovation Technical Program Assistant to provide technical operations, data management, and process improvements across research administration systems.

The role supports system administration, dashboards, and reporting, and collaborates with the Division on Carnegie R2 objectives. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this fixed-term position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Three years of experience supporting research administration systems and related tech.
Experience with Workday, Kuali Research, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Adobe, or similar systems.
Ability to develop workflows, dashboards, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as functional administrator and technical support for research systems (Kuali, Workday, MS 365).
Configure user accounts, security roles, workflows, and system settings.
Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and release management with IT and vendors.
Develop automated workflows and dashboards to support research operations.
Maintain data integrity and prepare reports and executive dashboards.
Create technical documentation and user guides for end users.
Provide training and ongoing support to faculty and staff on research systems.
Support compliance, security reviews, and governance across systems.
