Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an IT Professional to join the Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) Department. The role involves cross-site teamwork to administer two computer networks, manage servers and network appliances, and provide advanced user support in a security-conscious environment.

Required are a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience or a master’s with 4+ years, plus skills in VMware, RHEL, and NR cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 4+ years.
• Experience administering VMware environments.
• Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
• Knowledge of NR cybersecurity policies and requirements.
• Experience providing end-user support.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage network infrastructure.
• Perform hardware upgrades following an obsolescence management plan.
• Follow NR cybersecurity policies and author CSCRs as necessary.
• Lead IT projects that will benefit the NR Electrical Community.
