Sr. IT Support Specialist
***Remote position but will be required to travel to facilities as needed. Must live within 2 hours driving distance to the site.****
The Sr. IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise in support of BayMark's infrastructure and computing environments across various technologies, such as desktops, servers, virtualization, networks, and remote connectivity. Maintains and/or assists in the preparation of reports, surveys, inventories, verifications, and other special assignments. Travel by plane or automobile as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provides expert technical hardware/software support by phone, email, and in person.
- Responds to desktop, server, phone, and general system technical issues.
- Configures and sets up new PC/Laptop hardware.
- Manages and maintains systems as assigned.
- Ensures and tracks that company assets are maintained responsibly.
- Assists in the management of enterprise data protection efforts to support disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Assists with the administration and installation of the company's infrastructure as needed.
- Assists with maintaining the company's telephone system.
- Recommends and plans IT strategies to support company objectives based on research and evaluation.
- Handles stressful situations professionally and interacts effectively with others.
- Must be present during working hours at the office for in-person meetings and access to a computer, without violating company policy.
- Stays updated on IT trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Complies with all security policies and procedures to maintain system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Performs other IT-related projects as needed.
- Participates in department meetings and activities.
- Supports programs by responding promptly and accurately to inquiries.
- Maintains composure in stressful environments and manages multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Follows instructions and uses critical thinking for decision-making.
- Complies with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Adheres to BayMark policies, including Compliance Policy and Code of Ethics.
- Conducts all business activities professionally and ethically.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Interacts positively with all staff, supporting the company's mission.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Provides after-hours on-call support as assigned by the IT Manager.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum five years' experience with enterprise IT systems management and/or BS in Information Technology with certifications such as A+, MCP, MCSA, MCTS.
- Over five years' Help Desk support experience in a Windows environment supporting end users.
- Expertise in Windows Desktops and MS Office.
- Experience with Windows Server, Exchange, and Virtualization.
- Effective communication and training skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, policy compliance, and documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Superior customer service skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment with demanding users.
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities.
