Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering is seeking a Senior IT Technician to support and maintain our enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple states from Houston. This role provides advanced Tier II/III support, helps with system upgrades, security initiatives, and lifecycle management for end-user computing environments.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of enterprise IT experience, certifications (A+/Security+, Microsoft certs), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree or equivalent experience.
  • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications required.
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, Azure Administrator and Endpoint Administrator certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk products and engineering software.

  • Provide advanced Tier II/III support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, CAD plotters, phone systems, and related technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and OS issues.
  • Support remote and onsite users across multiple office locations.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Technician to support and maintain the technology infrastructure that powers our growing multi‑state organization. The role provides advanced Tier II/III technical support while assisting with the administration, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise systems, end‑user computing environments, and IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Support the administration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint management solutions, and other enterprise technologies.
  • Assist with system upgrades, software deployments, security initiatives, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Support user account administration, permissions, device provisioning, and endpoint security.
  • Monitor system performance and assist in identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and security.
  • Provide advanced Tier II/III technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, CAD plotters, phone systems, and related technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues.
  • Support remote and onsite users across multiple office locations.
  • Escalate and collaborate on complex technical issues while maintaining ownership through resolution.
  • Configure, image, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and associated hardware.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, inventory management, asset tracking, shipping, and replacement schedules.
  • Assist with office expansions, relocations, infrastructure improvements, and technology implementations.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records, and support procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting employees with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Mentor junior IT staff by providing technical guidance and sharing best practices.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director and other team members on strategic technology initiatives.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance technology services and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
  • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    • Modern Desktop Administrator – Experience administering and supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
    • Azure Administrator – Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint management, and enterprise desktop support.
    • Endpoint Administrator – Experience deploying and supporting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Experience supporting Autodesk products and engineering software.
  • Experience supporting Cisco networking environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and enterprise device management.
  • Experience working in an engineering, architecture, consulting, or professional services environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be willing to travel 10–20%, including occasional overnight travel.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a professional office‑based position with mandatory support visits to other ICE locations. Mandated physical activities include:

  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • Frequent sitting, typing, and viewing monitors.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
Work Schedule

Mandatory 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday. Must participate in an after‑hours on‑call rotation and may work evenings or weekends for system maintenance or emergency response.
