Job summary

ControlAltProtect is seeking a senior IT support expert to provide advanced assistance across hardware, software, network, and security systems in the Cleveland, OH area. You will diagnose complex issues, manage critical infrastructure, and collaborate with clients to ensure high service levels.

Responsibilities include incident management, system upgrades, documentation, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an in-person role with occasional after-hours support in a fast-paced MSP environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years in IT support with 2+ years in Tier 3 or senior role.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and networking.
• Familiarity with Unix and cloud infrastructure (AWS) is a plus.
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell preferred).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to prioritize in a fast-paced MSP environment.
• Ability to de-escalate and explain technical information to non-technical users.
• Professional written reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve intricate IT issues across hardware, software, and network stacks.
• Manage and monitor servers, databases, and networking gear.
• Handle high-priority incidents and escalations with timely updates.
• Implement system upgrades, patches, and configurations.
• Maintain security policies and perform vulnerability assessments.
• Create documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Contribute to IT projects, migrations, and integrations.
• Mentor Level 1-2 engineers and share best practices.
• Occasional after-hours support.
• Collaborate with vendors to meet SLAs.
