Job summary

The State of Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division seeks an IT Professional 3 to serve as the Department Information Security Officer in Las Vegas, Carson City or Reno. This senior role leads the IT Security Team and guides security strategy across systems and platforms.

You will develop security policies, oversee access controls, incident response, and disaster recovery while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CIS Controls, and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/MIS or related field with 3 years IT experience, including one year at journey level.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Experience in information security and systems administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analyses and determine end-user requirements with stakeholders and vendors.
• Maintain documentation for IT architecture and operations.
• Stay current on IT trends, security practices, laws, and ethics.
• Participate in budgeting, grants, and procurement requirements.
