Job summary

The State of Nevada is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support enterprise-wide technology and business initiatives within the Secretary of State's Operations Division. This full-time, in-person role is based in Carson City or Las Vegas, NV, working with executives, IT, and program areas to define projects and deliver structured analysis that guides technology-enabled operations.

Responsibilities include business process evaluation, requirements development, project coordination, and governance

Qualifications

• Experience advancing digital services and optimizing business processes.
• Ability to document business and functional requirements.
• Experience with project governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Apply data processing concepts to business process plans and analyses.
• Develop work and data flow diagrams illustrating system processes.
• Document business and functional requirements for proposed projects.
• Review test results to assess accuracy of application code.
• Monitor quality assurance and research hardware/software needs.
• Analyze business processes, propose improvements, and identify automation opportunities.
• Define benefits or deficiencies for proposed systems and document data definitions.
• Develop transition plans and bridging specifications for interacting programs.
• Consult with stakeholders to determine end-user requirements.
• Train users and participate in testing and QA activities.
• Support budget planning and long-range planning efforts.
• Prepare documentation for system manuals and grant proposals.
