Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager for a 1-year contract with a public-sector client in California. The role focuses on leading IT projects from planning to delivery, applying Agile/Scrum methodologies, and coordinating with stakeholders. Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure DevOps, and Azure Cloud is required.

Remote work from California or nearby states is available. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, PMP certification, and at least 7 years

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years applying project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
• At least 4 years as a Senior Project Manager on large or complex IT projects.
• 3+ years with software development projects.
• 3+ years with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• 3+ years with Azure DevOps.
• 3+ years with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex IT projects from planning through delivery, ensuring scope, requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met.
• Manage internal and external project teams, resources, risks, budgets, quality, and project timelines.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, deliverables, and release plans.
• Lead software development initiatives using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Develop project plans, schedules, release plans, and status reporting.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate project reviews, presentations, briefings, training, and customer documentation.
