Job summary

Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead high-priority initiatives across a hybrid work environment. Responsibilities include coordinating IT projects, procurement efforts, and RFP-driven activities in both Agile and traditional methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive PM experience in government or public sector settings, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience managing projects with budgets greater than $20 million.
• Experience managing IT projects within a large, complex enterprise environment.
• Experience managing vendors/third-party providers.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience handling multiple stakeholders and system/business owners from other departments.
• Experience managing multi-vendor environments in government settings.
• Experience providing PM services for IT projects involving COTS technology.
• Oversee technical teams with system architecture and SaaS integration.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Clarity to prepare project schedules, allocate resources and manage budgets.
• Prepare presentations for executives and project teams.
• Monitor and communicate project progress—cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, risks.
• Maintain clear and timely communications with sponsors, managers and teams.
• Foster collaboration between technical and business teams; gain commitment.
• Manage interfaces with other agencies and vendor deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to project lifecycle methodologies and change management.
• Understand project benefits and impact of changes to business cases.
• Update related project artifacts and documentation.
