About the Position
The Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects within scope, quality standards, and within time and budget constraints across one or more business units. This is a senior-level role with direct reports, managing resources, schedules, financials, and adherence to standard SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. The role also involves managing issues, budgets, risks, and change requests to ensure successful and timely project delivery. Additionally, the position contributes to process improvement initiatives related to enhancing project delivery.
Work Schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote. Traditional M-F hours.

Functions
- Manage 5 to 8 projects simultaneously while supervising team members handling similarly sized portfolios.
- Review project proposals to determine timelines, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Handle projects with sizes around 1350 to 4660 hours and costs between $200,000 and $2,000,000.
- Manage high-complexity projects such as startups, high-visibility initiatives, M&A, finance, customer-facing projects, and those involving multiple business units.
- Lead a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
- Assign projects, track progress, and report key updates regularly.
- Ensure project billing compliance and report on billing status.
- Collaborate with executives to create KPI reports on project performance.
- Continuously benchmark project management performance for improvement opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Develop and implement project, portfolio, and product prioritization plans.
- Manage financials proactively and report on project budgets.
- Coordinate with IT leadership and product teams to prioritize initiatives.
- Provide capacity planning and resource deployment reports.
- Evaluate trade-offs considering project size, complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
- Lead and contribute as a team member throughout project lifecycles.
- Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams.
- Address high-priority risks promptly.
- Ensure compliance with project methodology standards.
- Develop project plans and assign team tasks.
- Monitor daily work efforts, identify resource needs, perform quality reviews, and escalate issues as needed.
- Report on high-visibility projects and those facing significant challenges at the executive level.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
- 7-9 years of experience in strategic planning, implementation, and systems integration.
- 3-5 years managing large-scale projects.
- 1-2 years leading project teams.
- Experience in Logistics, Warehousing, or Transportation is a plus.
- PMI certification or equivalent.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Workfront).
- Familiarity with multiple project management methodologies and modern networking, software, and firmware technologies.
- Experience with enterprise financial and human capital management systems; Workday experience is a plus.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems like HighJump, Blue Yonder, Deposco, MercuryGate is advantageous.
- Proven ability to establish product strategy and roadmaps.
- Ability to forecast project demand and resource needs effectively.
