Job summary

SMUD is seeking a Part-time Project Manager II to lead complex technology initiatives within the IT PMO. The role blends waterfall and agile methods in a hybrid work setup, guiding multiple internal and external teams and subcontractors to deliver on diverse projects with budgets up to $5,000,000.

You will navigate dependencies, ensure integration across SMUD systems, and monitor budgets and forecasts while coordinating with third-party system integrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; nine+ years if no degree.
• PMP Certification within 12 months of appointment or equivalent experience/certification required.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in technical areas such as financial/economic analysis, marketing/customer research, engineering analysis, or planning and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex initiatives with high visibility and performance expectations.
• Coordinate across multiple business and IT teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage contracts and participation agreements with outside contractors as needed.
• Develop project plans, budgets, work breakdowns, schedules, and justifications for review.
• Monitor resources, costs, schedules, and status; report to management and stakeholders.
