Job summary

Consumers Energy is seeking a Senior Category Advisor to drive IT procurement and category management. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver cost savings, supplier performance, and value for money in the energy sector.

Hybrid role with onsite days in Michigan and relocation support where eligible. You will influence strategy, develop cost models, and lead procurement sourcing across software, hardware, and telecom domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with IT/Supply Chain focus and 4+ years IT SCM experience.
• Experience in IT procurement within utility, manufacturing or construction sectors.
• Experience with software, hardware and telecom procurement.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SAP, and ServiceNow for procurement workflows.

Responsibilities

• Apply continuous improvement to sustain SCM strategy and CMS objectives.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Support strategy development with complex analyses and align with budgeting cycles.
• Develop category expertise and negotiate with suppliers based on market trends.
• Support Portfolio Managers and Advisors in spend analytics and value-adding strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
