Job summary

Southpoint Consulting is seeking a Senior IT Portfolio Specialist to support a high-visibility federal program delivering mission-critical IT capabilities for humanitarian and disaster response. The role operates within the PMO, providing governance, analytics, and program management support to advance initiatives and decision-making.

The ideal candidate will coordinate multiple workstreams, produce executive-ready briefings, and develop governance artifacts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
5+ years of experience supporting federal government programs in portfolio management or PMO.
Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects or enterprise initiatives.
Experience developing governance documentation, SOPs, and portfolio processes.
Strong analytical skills with data-driven reporting and decision support.
Experience creating business process maps and workflow diagrams using Visio or similar tools.
Experience capturing functional and business requirements.
Experience preparing executive-level presentations and briefing materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently with multidisciplinary teams.
Active Secret security clearance is required.
Authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

Responsibilities

Support execution of portfolio initiatives and governance processes.
Coordinate activities across projects, tracking progress, risks, and actions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop program deliverables and executive briefings.
Develop and maintain portfolio governance documents and SOPs.
Model business processes and identify optimization opportunities.
Analyze portfolio data and develop dashboards and reports for leadership.
Identify, document, and track portfolio risks, issues, and dependencies.
Support response readiness and surge operations as needed.
Capture functional and technical requirements for new initiatives.
Create high-quality documentation and communications using Office and Visio.
Support knowledge management and CRM platforms.
