Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Sr. Make Engineer – Circulatory Restoration in Santa Clara, CA. The role focuses on integrating IT with OT and MES to improve manufacturing reliability, cybersecurity, and scalable plant solutions.

You will lead projects across IT/OT, support shop-floor operations, and drive technology modernization with cross-functional teams. A strong background in manufacturing IT and Agile practices is required, with emphasis on secure, efficient processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing IT environment with IT/OT/MES applications experience.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, switching, VLANs, VMware/Hyper-V; experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, Historian, MES.
Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
Experience with Agile/Scrum and FDA-regulated environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain integrated IT/OT architectures for manufacturing.
Ensure secure connectivity between industrial systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, Historians) and IT platforms.
Apply OT cybersecurity practices including system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management.
Lead shop-floor IT/OT/MES issues as primary contact; document incidents, changes, and workflows.
Drive plant technology modernization and lean initiatives with IT/OT teams and vendors.
