Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids seeks a Senior IT Leader to provide strategic technology leadership and operational excellence for a multi-facility campus. You will align OT/IT with business goals, champion digital factory initiatives, and lead the local IT team across enterprise systems including ERP and MES.

The role requires 15+ years of IT experience, 5+ years in manufacturing, and 8+ years of leadership, with strong MES/automation and cybersecurity expertise. Travel 5–15% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering is required.
• 15+ years IT experience, including 5+ years in a discrete manufacturing environment.
• 8+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Experience with MES/automation, shop-floor traceability, inventory management/WMS, and quality inspection systems.

Responsibilities

• Shape a 3- to 5-year technology roadmap to support site growth and sustainability targets.
• Serve as principal technology advisor for plant IT/OT systems and major incidents.
• Lead governance to prioritise CapEx/OpEx investments and facility initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing site IT team and manage partner engagements.
• Ensure maximum uptime and reliability for manufacturing, assembly, testing, and warehousing.
