Job summary

Forterra in Arlington, VA seeks a hands‑on IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage on‑prem virtualization, storage, and the GCC High identity layer. You’ll work with Proxmox clusters, NetApp storage, Veeam/Proxmox Backup, Entra ID and Azure Government, shaping deployments at new sites.

You’ll be a generalist across Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), and enterprise‑scale infrastructure, collaborating with Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, and Development in a compliance‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Windows Server administration with patching and baselining.
• Hands-on Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian) in virtualization context.
• Production on-prem virtualization experience (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Strong Entra ID and Azure Government experience with AD/Intune.
• Infrastructure design and deployment at enterprise scale.
• Collaborative, documentation‑driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Run and evolve Proxmox VE clusters and NetApp storage for capacity and performance.
• Administer Entra ID and Azure Government in GCC High tenant and AD/Intune.
• Harden Windows Server and Linux systems, implement baselines and patches.
• Design enterprise-scale infrastructure with Cybersecurity, Network Eng., and Dev.
• Shape disaster recovery for cloud and on‑prem using Veeam and Proxmox Backup.
• Expand configuration-as-code with Ansible for repeatable deployments.
