Job summary

Forterra in Arlington, VA is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to manage on‑prem virtualization, storage, and the GCC High cloud identity layer. You will work across Proxmox, NetApp, Veeam, Entra ID, and Azure Government, deploying infrastructure at Forterra sites and shaping it in a compliance‑driven environment.

The role requires Windows and Linux administration, broad-stack governance, disaster recovery planning, and automation with Ansible.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Windows Server administration, patching, hardening and compliance.
• Hands-on Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian) in virtualization contexts.
• Experience with on-prem virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware).
• Strong Azure Entra ID / Entra ID experience and Intune management.
• Ability to design and deploy enterprise-scale infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Identity and endpoint management (AD, Entra ID, Intune).
• Willingness to respond to infrastructure emergencies out of hours.
• Document and hand off build work clearly for team enablement.

Responsibilities

• Virtualization and storage management across Proxmox VE clusters and NetApp systems.
• Administer hybrid identity (Entra ID, Azure Government) and cloud components.
• Harden Windows Server and Ubuntu/Debian systems, ensure patching and baselines.
• Architect infrastructure solutions at enterprise scale and deploy across Forterra sites.
• Shape disaster recovery and business continuity for cloud and on-prem services.
• Advance configuration-as-code with Ansible to automate repeatable deployments.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
