Job summary

Forterra is seeking a Staff IT Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate our on‑prem and hybrid infrastructure across multiple sites. You will manage Proxmox virtualization, NetApp storage, and identity/endpoint management, while administering Windows and Linux servers and Azure Entra ID in a GCC-High environment.

You’ll design enterprise‑scale solutions, collaborate with Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, and Development, and participate in after‑hours on‑call.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Windows Server administration (patching, hardening, compliance).
• Solid Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian) in a Proxmox context.
• Strong experience with Azure and Entra ID; GCC‑High/Azure Government required.
• Experience architecting enterprise infrastructure across sites and IAM/endpoint management.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call for incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own Windows and Linux administration across a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.
• Architect and deploy enterprise infrastructure solutions across Forterra sites.
• Administer Entra ID and Azure including Azure Government in GCC‑High.
• Harden Windows Server and Linux environments, including patching and baselines.
• Own on-prem infrastructure end-to-end: Proxmox, NetApp, and identity management.
• Automate provisioning with Ansible to reduce manual work.
• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity using Veeam and Proxmox Backup Server.
• Participate in after-hours on-call and mentor junior engineers.
