Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to maintain and advance our enterprise infrastructure. You will manage VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, Microsoft Server technologies, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365, while enhancing backup, disaster recovery, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the organization's enterprise infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and available for business operations.
• Administer and support virtual server environments using VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Manage Microsoft server technologies and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
• Manage enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam and cloud-based retention systems.
• Support Azure cloud services and assist with ongoing optimization of cloud-based resources and applications.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and serve as a Tier III escalation resource for complex technical problems.
• Perform system maintenance activities including patching software upgrades, backup administration, and recovery testing.
• Manage and support storage systems, virtualization platforms, Citrix environments, and related infrastructure technologies.
• Support network infrastructure including switches, VLANs, VPN connections, and firewall technologies.
• Help maintain cybersecurity controls through system hardening, patch management, security monitoring, and compliance initiatives.
