Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. You will maintain and enhance the organization’s VMware, Microsoft 365, Azure, storage, networking, and cybersecurity systems in a fast-paced production environment.

You will work to resolve complex infrastructure challenges, implement upgrades, and ensure security and reliability across the enterprise. The Dixon Group emphasizes veteran employment and equal opportunity practices.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience administering VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
• 3–5 years of storage, networking, VPNs, firewalls, and cybersecurity knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems and networking protocols.
• Experience with backup/recovery solutions, preferably Veeam.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support enterprise infrastructure for security, reliability, and availability.
• Administer and support VMware server environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
• Manage Microsoft servers, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and Microsoft 365.
• Manage backup/recovery including Veeam and cloud retention.
• Support Azure cloud services and optimize cloud resources.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and serve as Tier III escalation.
• Perform system maintenance, patching, backups, and DR testing.
• Manage storage, virtualization, Citrix, and related infrastructure.
• Support network switches, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Maintain cybersecurity controls and system hardening.
