Palo Alto Networks in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a Senior IT Field Engineer to join our IT Service Desk. You’ll provide hands-on support for end-user tech, local office infra, and collaboration tools, working with teammates across global regions while primarily supporting users at the local site.

You’ll help improve support processes, implement automation, and ensure every employee’s technology experience is seamless and secure; this is an in-office role at our HQ.

Qualifications

• Typically up to 3-5 yrs of experience with a BA/BS in Information Technology or equivalent, in a Service Desk or Field Support role.
• Strong in Google Workspace administration, endpoint management, Zoom, and identity/access management tools.
• Hands-on experience supporting macOS and Windows devices, SaaS apps, VPN, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
• Automation scripting (PowerShell, Python) or automation tool usage to streamline IT operations.
• Customer-focused with a balance of empathy, technical accuracy, and efficiency.
• Curious and proactive about adopting new support technologies and improving IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver responsive IT support for software, hardware, and collaboration systems (Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack).
• Troubleshoot issues, identify systemic problems, and propose improvements to reduce downtime and ticket volume.
• Maintain and support core services including Google Workspace, endpoint management, VPN, and identity/access tools (Okta, CyberArk).
• Update documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases for consistency across the global service desk.
• Develop or modify automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to streamline routine tasks.
• Provide on-site support for end-user devices, conference room A/V setups, and office connectivity.
• Communicate effectively to ensure timely resolutions and a positive user experience.
• Experiment with AI technologies to assist troubleshooting and proactive issue detection.
