Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking an Equipment & Application Specialist Senior at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital to deliver advanced technical support across the organization, including server, hardware, software, networking, and phone systems for 850+ users.

The role installs and implements new technologies, manages MIS service requests, and ensures timely resolution of work orders while collaborating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Information Technology, including Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments.
• Extensive expertise in networking concepts, including network infrastructure, topology mapping, and configuration.
• Proficient in fiber optic technology and connectivity solutions.
• In-depth understanding of computer hardware, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, system administration, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and LAN design.
• Advanced experience in server administration, configuration, and maintenance.
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies, and to apply that knowledge to enhance current and future IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced technical support across the organization, troubleshooting server, hardware, software, networking, and phone system issues for 850+ users.
• Install and implement new technologies, manage MIS service requests, and ensure timely resolution of work orders.
• Collaborate with vendors and provide consultation on major implementations; may supervise staff.
• Contribute to strategic planning, data analysis, budgeting, and policy development.
• Impact system reliability, data integrity, and continuity of operations across all departments.
