Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Virginia is seeking an Equipment & Application Specialist Senior to deliver advanced IT support for over 850 users. The role installs new technologies, prioritizes service requests, and collaborates with vendors to ensure timely resolutions.

The successful candidate will have extensive networking and server administration experience, fiber optic knowledge, and a strong focus on reliability, data integrity, and operations continuity across departments.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Information Technology, including Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments.
• Extensive expertise in networking concepts, including network infrastructure, topology mapping, and configuration.
• Proficient in fiber optic technology and connectivity solutions.
• In-depth understanding of computer hardware, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, system administration, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and LAN design.
• Advanced experience in server administration, configuration, and maintenance.
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies, and to apply that knowledge to enhance current and future IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced technical support across the organization for 850+ users, troubleshooting server, hardware, software, networking, and phone systems.
• Install and implement new technologies; manage MIS service requests and prioritize work orders.
• Collaborate with vendors; participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development as needed.
• Provide consultation on major implementations and supervise staff where applicable.
• Contribute to improving system reliability, data integrity, and continuity of operations.
