Job summary

The DC Government seeks a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist in the Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) to lead agency-wide IT systems and procurement activities, overseeing IT programs and operations to support aging and disability services.

You will direct IT planning, coordinate unit initiatives, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with IT policies, testing, and security. Strong communication with executive leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, or technology management, or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in related fields and IT development.
• IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
• AND must meet the four competencies listed above.

Responsibilities

• Directs IT management plans and systems for agency operations.
• Coordinates IT initiatives into a cohesive agency IT plan.
• Discusses policy with executive management and recommends changes in IT programs.
• Directs selection, installation and maintenance of computer systems software and hardware.
• Develops IT policies and ensures agency-wide compliance with IT operations.
• Supervises staff, assigns work, and evaluates performance.
