Job summary

Innoflight is seeking a Senior IT Cyber Security Specialist in San Diego to lead RMF compliance and DoD security efforts. You will develop security documentation, mentor team members, and collaborate with engineering, IT, and government customers to protect mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities include overseeing SSPs/POA&Ms, incident response, and secure architecture. A Top Secret clearance is required, with a strong background in RMF, NIST 800-171, and DISA STIGs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Cybersecurity/CS or related field.
• 7+ years IT/cybersecurity experience, preferably with DoD/federal environment.
• Linux administration and scripting experience (Bash etc).
• IAM principles and technologies knowledge.
• RMF, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, DISA STIGs familiarity.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IPS, SIEM and vulnerability tools.
• DoD 8570.1-M IAM Level III cert (CISSP/CISM/GSLC).
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical skills.
• Active Top Secret U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leads RMF compliance across system lifecycle and ATO processes.
• Develops SSPs, POA&Ms, RARs and supports eMASS packages.
• Performs vulnerability scanning, system hardening and remediation.
• Monitors security tools: SIEM, IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, VPNs.
• Guides secure system architecture and regulatory standards.
• Responds to incidents with root-cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Creates SOPs, network diagrams, and security processes.
• Collaborates with IT, Engineering, and government customers.
• Mentors junior staff and advises on risk and compliance.
