Job summary

PG&E in Oakland is seeking an Expert IT Business Analyst to serve as a trusted advisor between business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders. You will translate complex enterprise needs into scalable technology solutions and lead analysis of processes, systems, and data to develop detailed specifications.

You will assess feasibility and risk, shape scope and strategy, prioritize capabilities, and validate solutions to align with objectives and standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science/Information Systems, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 7 years of job-related experience in Information Technology to include 5 years of business analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation for business and IT stakeholders.
• Anticipate client concerns and questions, and provide proactive, timely client-focused communications.
• Provide timely and professional responses to client inquiries or escalate as appropriate.
• Work with service delivery leads to conduct periodic reviews of all service levels.
• Ability to effectively build cross-discipline relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analysis of current process and recommendations for process improvements.
• Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solutions.
• Comply with SOX and other standard process requirements.
• Ability to effectively ensure delivery of vendor services which meet or exceed client requirements.
• Implement, maintain and report on metrics and measures to ensure clear visibility into the performance of the IT solutions.
• Maintain understanding of provider capabilities.
• Work with providers to define standard processes and tools for all services.
• Evaluate provider recommendations for service changes and improvements.
• Establish performance benchmarking for application portfolio by line of business.
• Maintain comprehensive provider performance reports and communicate updates to SEO and PG&E leadership as needed.
• Work with service delivery leads to conduct periodic reviews of all service levels to ensure alignment with contractual commitments.
• Communicate IT processes to business clients. Contribute to IT Methodology.
• May perform various additional activities, such as operation and maintenance support, testing of critical areas of complex applications, etc.
• Manages vendor relationships and contract renewals for supported third party applications.
