Job summary

PG&E, based in Oakland, seeks a senior reliability data engineer/architect to define technical vision and lead enterprise data capabilities for reliability and resilience strategies.

You will oversee design and governance of data pipelines, ensuring auditability, metadata, and regulatory alignment while guiding cross-functional teams and senior leadership through strategic data initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
• Ten years of experience with multiple data engineering/ETL ecosystems (Palantir Foundry, Spark, Informatica, SAP BODS, OBIEE).
• Experience with multiple data engineering/ETL ecosystems.
• Proven track record of implementing data warehouses/data lakes in past five years.
• Experience leading development teams.
• Three years of experience in ML deployment and MLOps.
• Master's degree in CS/MIS or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to tackle complex data and analytics problems with broad impact.
• Contribute to solving uniquely complex data and analytics challenges.
• Provide thought leadership on scalable data infrastructure with verified data quality and metadata.
• Partner with business and other departments to gather requirements for cross-functional systems.
• Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues.
• Communicate recommendations effectively (oral and written).
• Drive development of departmental standards and new goals.
