Bristol Myers Squibb, Princeton, NJ, is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst (Sr. IT BA) focused on Research Sample and Reagent Management.

You will join a cross-functional team bridging business analysis with hands-on development, driving digital capabilities to accelerate drug discovery and improve lab workflows. The role emphasizes GenAI-enabled requirements, prototyping, and end-to-end delivery within a dynamic research IT environment.

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics) or Technical discipline (CS/IT or equivalent).
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with responsibility for scientific application analysis, design, or support in pharma/biotech environments.
• Direct hands-on experience with Sample Management and/or Reagent Management processes, systems, or workflows in Drug Discovery Research.
• Demonstrated ability to elicit, document, and manage requirements (user stories, process maps, use cases).
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies applied to SDLC and IT services.
• Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data querying, analysis, or lightweight scripting.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
• Track record delivering high-value digital capability projects within timelines and budgets.
• Experience with AI/GenAI tools and responsible AI principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops deep domain knowledge of Sample Management and Reagent Management within Drug Discovery Research.
• Translates scientific workflows into actionable digital requirements with bench scientists and informatics teams.
• Acts as a trusted domain liaison between scientists and IT services across delivery teams.
• Partners with IT peers to support digital capability investments across Research IT.
• Shapes business demands by eliciting needs, mapping processes, and prioritizing requirements and user stories.
• Defines acceptance criteria, supports UAT, and ensures delivered solutions meet business outcomes.
• Leverages low-code/no-code tools and scripting to prototype and accelerate delivery.
• Keeps an external view on industry trends and GenAI opportunities relevant to Research IT.
