Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to bridge business analysis and hands-on development within Drug Discovery Research, with a focus on Sample Management and Reagent Management.

You will partner with IT colleagues, scientists, and project managers to elicit requirements, design digital capabilities, prototype solutions, and apply GenAI fluency to accelerate discovery, automate workflows, and deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive IT experience in pharma or life sciences.
• Direct hands-on experience with Sample Management and/or Reagent Management.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and requirements management.
• Strong SQL and/or Python for data querying and scripting.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops deep domain knowledge of Sample Management and Reagent Management processes, workflows, and data.
• Collaborates with bench scientists, lab operations teams, and research informatics personnel to translate scientific workflows into digital requirements.
• Acts as a trusted domain liaison—understanding how samples and reagents are tracked, stored, consumed, and reported across the drug discovery lifecycle.
• Partners with IT peers: provides analysis in support of digital capability investments.
• Shapes business demands: elicits needs, maps processes, and maintains focus on value.
• Manages stakeholder expectations and ensures value-driven delivery.
• Builds to validate: prototypes, scripts, and UI mockups to accelerate delivery.
• Bridges last mile: works with engineers on low-code/no-code tooling.
• AI capabilities: applies GenAI to accelerate requirements and enable automation.
