Job summary

The State of Maryland, through the Maryland Department of Disabilities Assistive Technology Program (MDTAP), is seeking an IT Accessibility Specialist to advance SITAI compliance across state agencies. You will test websites, apps, and documents for ADA Title II and WCAG, provide expert technical support, and develop accessibility training resources for staff.

The role collaborates with the DoIT Office of Accessibility and the MDTAP Executive Director to deliver state-wide IT accessibility

Qualifications

Three years designing interactive eLearning with industry tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, and Vyond.
Three years administering SCORM-compliant content within an LMS like Workday Learning.
Three years applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories to live and asynchronous training.
Ability to convert complex digital accessibility requirements into clear, bite-sized materials and SOPs.

Responsibilities

Test state websites, apps, and software for ADA Title II compliance and WCAG success criteria.
Provide technical support to state agency developers, content managers and procurement staff.
Create comprehensive accessibility guidance and training materials for state employees and contractors.
Coordinate with DoIT Office of Accessibility on testing, recommendations, and best practices.
Develop and maintain online training resources and asynchronous modules on IT accessibility.
