Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead cybersecurity for mission-critical systems in national security programs.

This role requires active TS/SCI with polygraph, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 10 years of experience, plus the ability to review architectures, develop security plans, and guide engineers and stakeholders. You will support system owners through approval processes, manage risks, and contribute to accreditation efforts

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing, approving, and developing security plans for IT systems
• Experience implementing measures to protect systems against unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure
• Demonstrated understanding of information systems, system development, network architecture, and cybersecurity principles
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Experience briefing technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Support system owners and project managers through cybersecurity approval and compliance processes
• Review technical architectures, deployment methodologies, and network designs
• Interpret cybersecurity and data protection requirements for stakeholders
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated throughout the system lifecycle
• Develop and maintain security documentation and compliance artifacts
• Assess system risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Provide cybersecurity guidance to engineers and non-technical partners
• Support security reviews, audits, and accreditation activities
