Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a highly experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in Dallas, TX, to provide cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, and RMF/JSIG guidance for SAP environments. The role involves senior ISSO/ISSE duties, security assessments, and continuous monitoring across complex systems.

Qualified candidates will have a TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility, a relevant bachelor's degree, 11–12 years of cybersecurity experience, and IAM-III certifications.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 11-12 years of relevant cybersecurity/IASO/ISSE experience.
• DoD 8140 IAM-III level certification (e.g. CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO).
• Experience performing combined ISSO and ISSE duties for classified SAP environments.
• Knowledge of JSIG, RMF and NIST SP 800-series publications.
• Experience manually developing authorization artifacts and evidence (SSP, POA&Ms, etc.).
• Hands-on assessment of Linux/Windows systems via command line, scans, logs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate cybersecurity architectures for multi-classification systems.
• Perform senior ISSO and ISSE duties across lifecycle stages.
• Apply JSIG, RMF, and NIST SP 800-series to design, implement, assess, and authorize controls.
• Manually develop and maintain authorization artifacts and evidence (SSP, narratives, POA&Ms).
• Evaluate security architectures and changes for impact on controls and risk.
• Conduct hands-on security assessments, scans, log reviews, and control validation.
• Identify gaps and create remediation and POA&Ms plans.
• Coordinate protection needs and allocation of controls.
• Implement secure configuration processes and assess STIG compliance.
• Use Tenable, Trellix, SolarWinds, SIEM, SCAP, OpenSCAP, and Evaluate-STIG for assessments.
• Review system diagrams, data flows, inventories, and configurations for security.
