Job summary

The Newberry Group seeks an experienced ISSE to support a DISA customer. The ISSE provides security architecture and RMF guidance across SDLC for on-premises, cloud, and modernization efforts. You will translate requirements into actionable controls and help remediate vulnerabilities to improve system security.

Hybrid onsite schedule (4 days onsite weekly) with commutable distance to Fort Meade, MD or Chambersburg, PA; TS clearance required and 130k–150k salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Current DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Must reside within commuting distance of Fort Meade, MD or Chambersburg, PA for hybrid onsite schedule.
• Expert RMF and NIST SP 800-37 knowledge.
• Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Hands-on with enterprise security tech: SIEM, vulnerability scanners, EDR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded security engineering expert for Mission Partners, ISSMs, ISSOs, system owners, architects and development teams.
• Provide security engineering support throughout the SDLC, including requirements gathering, design reviews, sprint planning, modernization, implementation, and production.
• Translate RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DoD policy into actionable security solutions.
• Conduct security architecture and design reviews for new and existing systems.
• Analyze networks, cloud architectures, applications, APIs, microservices for security weaknesses.
• Mentor ISSMs, ISSOs, developers and system owners.
