Job summary

KBR is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to design and implement security architectures aligned with NIST RMF, DoD STIGs, and CIS benchmarks. You will perform SDLC security engineering, manage vulnerability programs, and integrate defenses across Windows, Linux, cloud, and container environments.

The role includes incident response support, automation scripting, and mentoring junior ISSEs within the National Security Solutions team in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Top Secret clearance with SCI.
• IAT Level III certification (SecurityX/CASP, GCIH, CISA, CISSP) required.
• Strong background in networking, cloud security, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with Nessus, CyberArk, Splunk, Trellix, and related tooling.
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain DoD IA architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architecture per NIST RMF and DoD STIGs.
• Perform SDLC security engineering: requirements analysis, reviews, testing, accreditation support.
• Manage vulnerability programs with Nessus, ACAS, and Qualys.
• Integrate security into Windows/Linux servers, cloud, virtualization, and containers.
• Support incident response and forensics using Splunk Enterprise.
• Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for remediation.
• Mentor junior ISSEs and coordinate with admins, network engineers, and application teams.
