Job summary

Lyntris, a defense technology company, seeks an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)/Cybersecurity Engineer to support RMF, A&A, and cybersecurity compliance across DoD programs. The role acts as a cybersecurity adviser to program leadership and ISSMs, coordinating across multiple technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity, RMF, or cybersecurity engineering experience on DoD or Federal programs.
• Lead ISSE and RMF activities across the system lifecycle, including security control implementation and A&A.
• Develop, maintain, and review cybersecurity policies, CONOPS, SOPs and compliance documents.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, security control evaluations, and remediation planning.
• Coordinate with program managers, ISSMs, engineers, and government stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements.
• Evaluate COTS/GOTS/open-source tech for cybersecurity impact and authorization requirements.
• Knowledge of NIST/DoD guidance including NIST SP 800-53, SP 800-40, SP 800-92, SP 800-115, SP 800-128, SP 800-161, NAVWARINST 5239.20

Responsibilities

• Serve as ISSE supporting RMF, A&A, cybersecurity compliance for DoD programs.
• Develop, maintain, and assess cybersecurity policies, authorization artifacts, and compliance records per DoD requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, security control evaluations, and remediation planning.
• Collaborate with managers, ISSMs, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements into system design and operations.
• Evaluate tech and CDS to determine cybersecurity impacts and authorization needs.
• Coordinate RMF schedules, security assessments, and accreditation support with leadership and stakeholders.
