Job summary

VetJobs in Beavercreek, OH seeks an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) Level 4 to support design, engineering, and sustainment of secure enclaves at the edge for DoD enterprise services and cyber defense. You will assess vulnerabilities, enforce RMF controls, and generate technical documentation with a focus on DoD classified environments.

Role requires strong experience with IA tools (Splunk, Nessus, ePO, STIG/SCAP) and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of leadership in a relevant area, OR equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of demonstrated performance in related technology.
• 5+ years of related experience in an SCI/SAP environment.
• Security+ Certification.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain distributed Splunk Enterprise environments (RBAC, dashboards, reports, alerts).
• Administer Nessus Scanner/Manager and Security Center with custom scans and reports.
• Manage Trellix ePO endpoint security including policies and deployments.
• Design security requirements for hybrid cloud environments to RMF standards.
• Develop unique solutions for Cyber Threat and Defensive Operations.
• Automate threat assessment, reporting, and audit support.
• Report security posture trends to ISSM/ISSO and advise improvements.
• Assess access controls, CM processes, and security control effectiveness.
