Job summary

Teledyne Imaging Sensors is seeking a Product Validation and Characterization Engineer to advance infrared focal plane array validation, analysis, and reporting. You will work with design, test, and applications teams to ensure performance targets are met across diverse operating conditions.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, automated testing with Python, and clear technical documentation, with opportunities to contribute to mission-critical projects for aerospace and defense customers.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years in semiconductor test, product validation or characterization.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and analog/digital/mixed-signal fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, probes).
• Experience developing automated test solutions using Python and instrument protocols (GPIB, SCPI, sockets).
• Strong data analysis skills with JMP, Spotfire, R, Excel.
• Ability to debug hardware issues; PCB design/debug, aerospace/military/spaceflight/cryogenic ROICs a plus.
• U.S. citizenship required due to access restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Validate and characterize ROIC-based infrared focal plane array products to ensure design and performance compliance.
• Develop and execute product validation, characterization, and debug plans across operating conditions.
• Analyze test results and generate technical reports for product release and customer deliverables.
• Collaborate with design, test, systems, and applications engineering to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize semiconductor devices using electrical engineering principles.
• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including direct customer interaction.
• Maintain strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced development environment.
