Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, California, seeks an Electrical Engineer Systems IPT Lead to oversee the definition, design, and prototype/initial production of electrical subsystems for GA-ASI unmanned aircraft.

You will lead technical teams, coordinate with customers and vendors, manage schedules and budgets, and present designs at design reviews with clear communication of complex concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with progressive experience; 6+ years with a Bachelors, 4+ with a Masters, or 2+ with a PhD.
• Broad electrical engineering concepts: power, grounding, analog/digital circuits, databus architectures.
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, organize work, and coordinate phases at project level.
• Experience developing hardware/subsystems for military applications is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and ownership of one or more electrical subsystems.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements and project objectives.
• Develop innovative but practical electrical solutions for aircraft subsystems (power, vehicle management, mission systems, etc.).
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and present at design reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs).
• Define milestones, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure design control documentation.
