• Support the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles.
• Provide solutions through analog, digital and power conversion circuit design with analysis and CAD modeling.
• Develop control schemes, analog/digital/magnetic/electric machine design and EMI; perform thermal analysis and packaging.
• Create and maintain production documentation (test procedures, BOMs, Interface Control Documents, Source Control Documents, design specifications).
• Provide field support as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Electrical Design Engineer with our Electrical Engineering team located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA). Developing LRUs for the next generation of UAVs, responsible for analog, developing PWA (circuit design) for flight LRUs for the next generation of UAVs. Developing PWA (circuit design) for flight LRUs for the next generation of UAVs, to include analysis, verification testing, and documentation.

• This position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles.
• Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information.

• Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
