Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a D489 Construction Support Component Engineer (Senior / Specialist) to provide design and deck plate support for the IPS Motor Module during follow-on construction and test programs.

The role includes a 1st shift, with a 3–6 month training rotation in New London, CT, a relocation package and a 15% site differential. The position may require flexible hours to support 16/5 up to 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical field required.
• 5–14 years of post-graduate engineering experience required.

Responsibilities

• Determine root cause of IPS cognizant issues and correct deficiencies to minimize interruptions.
• Perform surveillances of work under cognizance.
• Act as primary Electric Boat contact for on-site IPS component suppliers.
• Support development of IPS cognizant component group engineering directions.
• Interface with NAVSEA, NNL, NSWC and vendors.
