Job summary

Flagship Pioneering, a leader in creating and funding breakthrough science companies, seeks a Senior IP Paralegal to join the IP Operations Team. You will support patent prosecution for internal attorneys and collaborate across the Flagship ecosystem in a dynamic environment.

You will manage international portfolios, coordinate filings and annuities, maintain schedules, mentor junior staff, and liaise with inventors, vendors, and outside counsel to drive efficient workflows and strong IP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal or Associate’s degree
• At least 5 years of patent paralegal experience
• Expertise in US patent prosecution rules and procedures
• Ability to independently draft and file patent documents
• Knowledge of global patent processes including PCT and US law
• Experience with CPI and iManage; CPI strongly preferred
• Proficiency with SharePoint and Outlook; openness to AI tools
• Strong portfolio management and docket maintenance skills
• Superior communication with diverse stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage international patent portfolios and dockets; coordinate filings and maintenance fees
• Prepare and file patent applications and related formalities
• Maintain patent schedules and ownership records for reporting
• Monitor USPTO, PCT, and foreign office rules; update processes
• Mentor and train junior paralegals and staff
• Coordinate with internal teams, outside counsel, inventors and vendors
