Bandwidth is seeking a Sr. IP Network Engineer to own and optimize global IP network infrastructure, including datacenter fabrics, WAN routing, and firewall security. You’ll drive automation and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact network projects.

The role emphasizes hands‑on expertise in VxLAN/EVPN, Palo Alto platforms, and service provider routing. A strong leadership mindset is essential for this senior position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years in service provider network infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with VxLAN/EVPN datacenter fabrics and Palo Alto firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate VxLAN/EVPN fabrics across PoPs (leaf‑spine, BGP EVPN).
• Manage Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, Panorama, threat prevention, security rules.
• Architect and maintain BGP-based WAN routing across the backbone.
• Troubleshoot multi‑layer network issues (switching, routing, security).
• Develop network automation tooling using Python, Ansible, or similar.
• Lead proof‑of‑concepts to evaluate new tech and platform improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on network projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours maintenance.
• Contribute to runbooks, post‑incident reviews, and vendor relations.
