Role Summary:

Join our collaborative and passionate Global Legal Team at PlayStation! As Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property Litigation at Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (SIE), you will be a key player on the team defending and advancing SIE's innovative intellectual property. This role offers an exciting opportunity to litigate high-stakes intellectual property cases involving PlayStation video games and products. It also provides leadership opportunities to mentor team members and develop innovative approaches to leveraging AI. Join us as we work on cutting-edge legal issues involving SIE's patents, trademarks, and copyrights in a rapidly evolving legal landscape!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage cutting-edge IP litigation, including by working with outside counsel to develop strategy and managing litigation budgets.
• Respond to third party subpoenas and other requests for information, documents, and/or witness testimony.
• Strategize with leadership and business partners regarding IP litigation risks, pre-litigation disputes, and ongoing IP litigation matters.
• Assist with developing policies, procedures, playbooks, and guidelines.
• Partner with colleagues in other regions, including the UK, Europe, and Asia on international disputes and pre-litigation risk assessments and strategy development.
• Mentor and help train attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

What We're Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Current member in good standing of a U.S. state bar; California Bar membership preferred.
• If not admitted in California, must be eligible to obtain Registered In-House Counsel status in California promptly upon hire and maintain that status throughout employment.
• At least 12 years of experience as either in-house litigation counsel and/or outside counsel litigating intellectual property cases in federal and state courts, with a minimum of 4 years of experience at a law firm.
• Experience litigating intellectual property cases, including complex patent litigation matters.
• Experience advising business leaders regarding dispute resolution and mitigation of legal risk.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute collaboratively as a team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills, impeccable integrity, good judgment, strong analytical skills, and a great attitude.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE's top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. This role also may be eligible for a bonus package.

$246,700 - $370,100 USD
